The Loons

The Loons are a race of balloon people that inhabited a small portion of the Great GuGu Forest. They were a peaceful whismical race. The Loons had lived in a large clearing in the forest where the branches of the trees made a soft leafy canopy that sheltered them and prevented them from bouncing out. When Ironheart and his armies arrived the Loons were quickly and easily slaughtered. Very few of their race has survived. The few that have have learned to take advantage of their unique physical nature to survive. Phoosh the Loon is a noted still living Loon and Freedom Fighter.

Without inflating themselves they are no taller than a spoon and appear to be very small dark grey men. The Loon can begin sucking air in through it's mouth to inflate itself. When fully inflated a Loon is roughly 3-4 feet tall. They look like bumpy grey balls with hands and feet a small puckered mouth. Uninflated Loons cannot speak. Inflated Loons can speak but do so briefly and quickly since talking lets air out and they deflate. A Loon can only stay comfortably inflated for about 12 hours before it's stretched skin starts to become sore. Then they deflate and sleep to rest their skin. If a Loon is punctured it deflates like a balloon but can be healed. With the expeception of the inconvience of being punctured Loons are very tough and can take a lot of abuse. Puncturing a Loon requires at least 3 Levels of Unsoaked Piercing of Slashing damage in one turn otherwise the weapon bounces off. While they are immune to bruising damage, it will bounce them. Actually killing a Loon is rather difficult. They dont bleed and can heal most puncture wounds with time. Their bodies need to be cut in half to kill a Loon for good.
