The Tottenhots
The Tottenhots are the one group of redcaps native to Oz. The live in a primal bestial culture.
Their home camp lies in Quadling Country near the Winkie Country border. They have the traditonal grey skin
that most redcaps have although they are much darker bordering on a coal black. They are short like most redcaps
rarely reaching above 5 feet in height. They wear little save for skins although some
of the more clever ones have begun using cog scraps for armor.
They live in small round huts made from
the red mud of the region. The huts look like half circles from the ground with a small hatch at the top.
The inside of the huts are complete
spheres with a small hatch at the bottom that leads to a system of tunnels that join all of the other huts and a central meeting chamber.
All Tottenhots are skilled in Wayfare and Primal, in fact part of their culture is the learning of Hopscotch.
Hopscotch is used to get in and out of their huts. They pop up through the hatch in the ceiling.
This act actually produces and odd popping sound
and this sound seems to be the basis for their language which is pops, grunts, and the few
english words some of them have picked up. If when traveling the sound of popping is heard growing steadily louder its
a good bet one has stumbled into Tottenhot territory.
The Tottenhots have no love for Ironheart and his machines and destroy them whenever they get the chance.
However they are equal oppurtunity destroyers and treat almost everyone equally. Rarely a redcap will
venture away from the tribe and set out on their own but this is rare nowadays with the dangers of solo travel in Oz.
Brute force is respected and a group of travelers might be able to survive if they can
make a formal challenge to one of the elders who will choose a champion who is usually the largest meanest redcap in the tribe.
Currently Ironheart considers the Tottenhots a mild nuisance since he believes there arent enough of them to pose any sort of threat.
The Tottenhots however do have their own underground water supply and therefore have not been
subject to the waters from the Fountain of Oblivion.
Many of the tribal elders have very clear memories of the time before Ironheart
and might be willing to share tales of the times with travelrs if they prove themselves worthy.
However they are much more likely to simply eat the travelers. You have been warned.
